TM44
Air-conditioning inspections
A TM44 Certificate can be more than a box-ticking exercise, just to meet compliance. Reducing business energy costs and potentially indirect carbon emissions are clear drivers to supporting UK businesses.
Our TM44 inspection and bespoke Recommendation Report:
- Confirm correct system sizing and positioning
- Verify maintenance standards
- Optimise run schedules and temperature settings
- Meet UK Energy Performance of Building Regulation statutory obligation for air-conditioning systems
Workspaces rarely remain the same. Separating walls are installed or removed to meet change. The activities carried out may change. In these situations, the air conditioning demands of the space can often be over-looked. This can lead to the system struggling to cool or heat the space when undersized, or if over-sized, using more energy than needed.

Step 1: The On-site Inspection
The on-site inspection visually examines a sample of refrigeration and air movement equipment both externally and internally, and their controls. Site notes, photographs, room measurements and temperature readings are taken during the inspection. It also examines any documentation that helps to understand the systems, or indicates the extent to which the systems have been maintained.
Step 2 : Review on-site findings and technical documentation
The onsite inspection is a great opportunity for Business Owners, Facilities Personnel, Office and Energy managers to engage and build greater insight into the maintenance, running and the interaction of systems and controls which can enable them to cascade behavioural changes, and/or review servicing intervals.
Step 3 : Produce TM44 Certificate and Recommendation Report
One size does not fit all! That’s why we like to understand what you require from the system and when. From there we can build in many bespoke recommendations that will support the needs of the occupants/equipment and see a reduction in the energy consumption of the systems.
Many of the recommendations in our Recommendation Report will increase the operating life of a system and reduce the likelihood of failure.
Critically, the failure of a system that contains a banned refrigerant would require completely replacing with a new system, which could take weeks or months to be installed. This could result in uncomfortable working conditions or server shutdown or failure. Our TM44 Recommendation Report will identify these obsolete systems to prevent such a scenario.
